As many know, I have long been a fervent advocate of financial fairness and Wall Street reform. All of my work over the past 5 years has stemmed from the belief that wealth gaps can be successfully narrowed by democratizing access to capital through laws and technologies that facilitate micro-alternative investing.
For this reason, I was both honored and elated when Jeff Joseph, CEO of The Alpha Pages properties (MODERN TRADER Magazine, futuresmag.com, FINalternatives.com, resourceinvestor.com and the ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT NETWORK), asked if I’d be interested in commencing a new column featuring some of the industry’s most disruptive and exciting alternative investing platforms – particularly those that offer investors of any class the potential to build for the future.
I felt strongly that this column debut with a platform that not only serves retail investors, but whose leadership shares my commitment to tightening investment opportunity gaps.
It was serendipitous that just as Jeff and I were discussing the inaugural article, a company called GROUNDFLOOR was receiving a groundbreaking SEC qualification that would allow it to open the $70 billion real estate lending market to more individual investors than ever before.
